Why use this template?
Use this free PowerShell script when you need to export guest users. It is generated locally and can be reviewed before you run it yourself in your own PowerShell session.
The template uses Microsoft.Graph.Users and requires User.Read.All. Output: CSV report. Level: Beginner. Action: Read-only. Risk: Low.
Review before running
The script is generated in your browser. Read it before you run it, and test it outside production first. “Read-only” describes the script itself; anything you add around it can still change data.
Generate the script
- Open the template in the PowerShell Builder.
- Enter the requested values and review the module, permissions, output and risk.
- Generate the script, read it carefully, and test it outside production before use.
The script is generated locally in your browser. Nothing needs to be uploaded to Opselith.
Generate Export Entra guest users →How to use this result
Use this report to export Microsoft Entra guest accounts to CSV for external-user inventory and access-review preparation.
When this helps
- Review external users before a guest-access review or directory cleanup.
- Create a CSV inventory with guest display name, user principal name, mail address, enabled state and creation date.
- Compare guest accounts with collaboration owners, sponsors or approved external-access records.
How to read the result
- Each row is a Microsoft Entra user returned with userType set to Guest; AccountEnabled shows the account sign-in state, not whether its access is still justified.
- CreatedDateTime shows when the guest object was created. It does not show last activity, invitation redemption state or which Teams and SharePoint resources the guest can access.
Things to check
- This report does not prove whether a guest is active, inactive or still needs access. Use sign-in, membership and resource-specific evidence before making lifecycle changes.
- A missing Mail value can be legitimate for some guest objects, so do not treat a blank mail field by itself as proof that an account is orphaned.
What to do next: Review the exported guests with the relevant business or collaboration owners, then use separate sign-in or resource-access reports where you need evidence before disabling or removing an account.
