Why use this template?
Use this free PowerShell script when you need to export members of an entra group. It is generated locally and can be reviewed before you run it yourself in your own PowerShell session.
The template uses Microsoft.Graph.Groups and requires GroupMember.Read.All; User.ReadBasic.All. Output: CSV report. Level: Beginner. Action: Read-only. Risk: Low.
Review before running
The script is generated in your browser. Read it before you run it, and test it outside production first. “Read-only” describes the script itself; anything you add around it can still change data.
Generate the script
- Open the template in the PowerShell Builder.
- Enter the requested values and review the module, permissions, output and risk.
- Generate the script, read it carefully, and test it outside production before use.
The script is generated locally in your browser. Nothing needs to be uploaded to Opselith.
Generate Export Entra group members →How to use this result
Use this report to export the direct membership returned by the Microsoft Graph group members endpoint.
When this helps
- Create a direct-membership CSV for access review, migration preparation or group-owner follow-up.
- Choose only the ID, object type, display name, UPN and email columns needed for the task.
How to read the result
- The report contains direct members of the selected group; nested groups are not recursively expanded.
- Non-user directory objects can return fewer useful properties when least-privilege permissions are used.
Things to check
- Hidden membership can require Member.Read.Hidden in addition to the normal membership-read permissions.
- An empty or partial-looking result should be reviewed against group type, hidden membership and permissions before drawing conclusions.
What to do next: Use the object IDs and types to investigate unexpected members before changing group membership.
